More on routines: Cory Doctorow and xkcd's Randall Munroe

3pi.jpg

Challenging my ideas about routines is the guy behind the successful webcomic xkcd, Randall Munroe. He shared a stage with novelist, blogger, and crazy zealot Cory Doctorow at the 2008 3Pi-Con, and the pair discussed their daily routines.

Munroe’s xkcd is one of the few self-sufficient webcomics out there, which must be the exception that reinforces my belief of “nothing consistently good without a solid routine”. While Doctorow may zoom far to my left on a number of copyright and software-related issues, I find myself of a similar mindset when it comes to the power of having routines, especially when life is filled with distraction and other responsibilities.
