Oh, I think none of us are claiming to be much more than recipe-followers ourselves, so if you want in, just drop me a line. :) Just don't ask how many of my recipes come from Cooking Light Annual Recipes 2002 - that's my fav.

@Martin: I hear MREs do bad things to your innards. True?

@Mom: I have a small one, and tried a few meals, but wasn't real impressed with the results. I've been eyeing a well-recommended recipe book for slow cookers, but haven't made a move.

@Ms. H: I'm just a hack. All my meals come out of the same Rachel Ray cookbook with only minor tweaks.

@Andy: We had a good experience with Becker. They fixed a tear in a leather chair we bought a couple years ago for free w/ no questions asked.

Man...that Warners Stellian experience...we've had a recent fairly bad experience with Becker Furniture world but every time I think about complaining, I just keep reading up on your fridge...ughhh. I'm steaming just reading about it.

Aren't leftovers a blessing. I've never asked--do you have a crockpot/slowcooker? Interested? It's not the delicious stir fry that you do so well, but makes the house smell good for hours, usually melds flavors and often yields wonderful leftovers. And of course, you end up with my favorite kind of meal, one you can eat with a spoon while reading your favorite book. (not as workable with babies at the table with you).

I have some left over MREs I can bring over for you. Completely shelf stable for years. And they got a little heat pack in there (Just add water) so you can still have a warm meal when your stove dies next. Unless your plumbing goes at the same time.
